Under the patronage of the Dean of Thi-Qar Technical College, Prof. Dr. Hussein Tukan Abdullah, the Department of Electromechanical Systems Engineering, in cooperation with the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Division, organized a scientific symposium entitled “Keeping Pace with Global Trends through Harnessing Modern Information Technologies in Student Training and Skills Development.”

The symposium was delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abbas Jassim, who addressed several key themes, most notably the importance of integrating modern technologies into the university’s teaching and training environment to enhance the efficiency of students and graduates and strengthen their readiness for the labor market.

The symposium aimed to:

• Keep pace with global trends in the field of information and communication technologies and link them with academic and practical environments.

• Harness modern technologies in the training of students and graduates to strengthen their employability.

• Develop students’ skills by introducing them to contemporary tools and techniques that enhance their academic and practical competencies.

• Prepare students and graduates for employment by equipping them with the applied knowledge necessary to meet the needs of institutions and companies.

• Strengthen university–labor market connections by aligning academic curricula with the real requirements of organizations.

The symposium concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the importance of optimally investing in modern information technologies and integrating them into the educational process in line with global directions, serving students’ aspirations for building a promising professional future.
