Under the patronage of the Dean of Thi-Qar Technical College, Professor Dr. Hussein Tukan Abdullah, the Legal Division of the college, in cooperation with the Iraqi Association of Political Science / Thi-Qar Branch, organized an educational seminar entitled “Youth Participation in Elections: A Step Toward Nation-Building.”
The seminar was attended by the Associate Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Shawqi Khalaf Mohammed; the Associate Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Talib Hashim; along with a number of faculty members and students.
The seminar was delivered by Political Advisor Ahmed Abdul-Abbas Ali, who highlighted the importance of involving youth in the electoral process and their pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of democracy and building state institutions on solid principles. He stressed that youth participation is a cornerstone for promoting integrity, transparency, and ensuring a better future for the nation.
The seminar aimed to raise youth awareness of their constitutional rights to electoral participation, enhance the culture of democracy and transparency, and empower them to play their role in national decision-making. It also sought to encourage positive youth engagement in public affairs, thereby contributing to shaping the future of the country and reaffirming the role of universities in spreading electoral awareness among students.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hussein Tukan Abdullah, honored Political Advisor Ahmed Abdul-Abbas Ali in appreciation of his valuable efforts and active participation in making the seminar a success.
