Dean of Dhi Qar Technical College Receives the Delegation of the Commission for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs

The Dean of Dhi Qar Technical College, Professor Dr. Hussein Twkan Abdullah, received a delegation from the Commission for the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, headed by Ms. Israa Abdul-Hurr Nasser, Director of the Commission, and attended by Mr. Qasim Mohammed Mahdi, Assistant Director, and Ms. Zainab Mohammed Mubarak, a long-serving caregiver.

During the meeting, the discussion focused on the significant efforts made by the Commission in caring for orphans and children with disabilities residing in the institution, as well as their dedication to nurturing and developing these children’s abilities despite being abandoned by their families. The Commission plays an essential familial, educational, and humanitarian role in their lives.

The attendees also highlighted the remarkable journey of Ms. Zainab Mohammed Mubarak, who has devoted fifty years of service to the children of the institution since 1976. Over the decades, she has helped raise many generations—some of whom have married and started their own families, while others have become self-reliant professionals. Despite not holding an academic degree, she has distinguished herself through her wisdom, awareness, and compassionate approach in dealing with children with care and love.

For his part, the Dean praised the noble humanitarian mission carried out by the Commission and its caregivers, announcing the college’s intention to organize special training courses for the institution’s children to help develop their skills and support their integration into society, thereby promoting values of responsibility and social solidarity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean presented letters of appreciation to the Director of the Commission, her Assistant, and Ms. Zainab Mohammed Mubarak in recognition of their outstanding efforts in caring for orphans and persons with disabilities, and in appreciation of their great humanitarian and educational contributions.
