The Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at Thi-Qar Technical College organized a scientific seminar entitled “Mathematics and Statistics as Strategic Tools in Cybersecurity”, presented by Asst. Lecturer Shahad Hassan Alwan.

The seminar addressed the importance of mathematics and statistics in data analysis, monitoring cyberattacks, and developing intelligent algorithms that contribute to strengthening information security.

The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hussein Tukan Abdullah, the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Talib Hashim, along with several faculty members and staff.

The event aimed to highlight the role of mathematics and statistics in supporting cybersecurity systems through the use of analytical methods and mathematical models for threat detection, prediction, and improving the efficiency of digital protection systems. It also emphasized the importance of integrating theoretical sciences with technical applications to address modern cyber challenges.

The seminar concluded with fruitful scientific discussions on the prospects of applying quantitative analysis in modern cybersecurity.
