The Dean of Thi Qar Technical College, Professor Dr. Hussein Tawkan Abdullah, participated as a member of the Southern Technical University delegation, headed by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, and accompanied by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, several college deans, and department directors, in a meeting held at the Presidency of Southern Technical University.
The meeting brought together the University delegation and a delegation from the University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST), Iran, headed by its President, Dr. Kianoush Barahi, along with the accompanying delegation, to explore prospects for academic cooperation and applied training, as well as to strengthen collaboration in the academic, training, and research fields.
During the meeting, the participants reviewed a number of topics of mutual interest, foremost among them the establishment of scientific partnerships that would contribute to the advancement of technical education and the enhancement of applied training opportunities for students and faculty members within companies and industrial institutions, in line with labor market requirements and the development of professional competencies.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between the two universities to support their shared objectives of preparing highly qualified graduates equipped with sound academic knowledge and practical expertise, while further strengthening the role of technical education in promoting sustainable development.
On this occasion, the Dean expressed his appreciation for this distinguished meeting, noting that it would broaden the prospects of Thi Qar Technical College’s academic outcomes and further align its educational programs with the evolving needs of the labor market.
