The University Psychological Counseling Unit at Thi-Qar Technical College organized an awareness seminar for students titled “Intellectual Immunization Against Extremism and Intolerance.”
The seminar was presented by Ms. Iman Kareem Hussein, Head of the Legal Division.
The event aimed to enhance students’ intellectual awareness, promote a culture of tolerance and moderation, and equip them with the necessary skills to confront extremist and intolerant ideas within their academic and social environments. It also emphasized the importance of critical thinking and openness to constructive dialogue.
During the seminar, Ms. Iman Kareem Hussein discussed the main forms of extremism and intolerance and methods of prevention, highlighting the role of university students in promoting a culture of moderation and positive dialogue among their peers.
An open discussion followed, allowing students to share their opinions and practical experiences.
At the conclusion of the seminar, the importance of continuing awareness programs was emphasized to strengthen intellectual consciousness and build a cohesive academic community capable of addressing intellectual and social challenges.
