Department of Electromechanical Systems Engineering Holds a Scientific Symposium on the Uses of Nuclear Energy
The Department of Electromechanical Systems Engineering at Dhi Qar Technical College organized a scientific symposium titled “Uses of Nuclear Energy”, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ward Sayel Ward, Head of the Department. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Hussein Twkan Abdullah, Dean of the College; Professor Dr. Shouqi Khalaf Mohammed, Assistant Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs; and Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Taleb Hashim, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, along with a number of faculty members and students.
The symposium covered four main topics, including:
The mechanism of nuclear power plants.
Advantages of nuclear energy.
Disadvantages of nuclear energy.
The feasibility of utilizing nuclear energy locally.
The event featured valuable scientific discussions among participants, concluding with a set of recommendations and findings emphasizing the importance of raising scientific awareness about nuclear energy and developing local capabilities to keep pace with global advancements in this vital field.
This symposium is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the department, aiming to enhance the knowledge and awareness of students and academic staff, promote scientific research in emerging fields, and strengthen the college’s role as a leading academic institution in Dhi Qar Governorate.
