Electromechanical Systems Engineering Department
Department Overview
The Department of Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technologies was established in 2018 as one of the modern engineering departments at the Technical College of Dhi Qar. It seamlessly combines principles of mechanical and electrical engineering to offer innovative solutions for contemporary industrial and technological challenges. The program is designed to equip students with a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fields such as mechanical design, automation, control systems, electrical machinery, power systems, and mechatronics.
The department emphasizes applied learning, with approximately 40% of the curriculum consisting of laboratory work, workshops, and hands-on training. Students are prepared to design, operate, and maintain integrated electromechanical systems, using modern engineering tools and software.
Graduates are qualified to work across various industrial sectors, including manufacturing, power generation, maintenance, automation, and smart systems. They are also capable of contributing to research, development, and innovation in advanced engineering technologies—thus supporting Iraq’s economic and technological progress.
