The Dean of Thi-Qar Technical College, Professor Dr. Hussein Tuqan Abdullah, met today, Sunday, September 7, 2025, with Professor Dr. Shafiq Al-Mulla, President of the Scientific Research Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The two sides discussed prospects for scientific and research cooperation between the college and the authority, as well as ways to support joint research projects and develop academic capacities in a manner that contributes to advancing the scientific mission and enhancing the quality of higher education outcomes.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of opening new horizons for research and development in line with the Ministry’s plans to support innovation and creativity and to meet the needs of society.

Professor Dr. Hussein Tuqan Abdullah, the Dean of the College, pointed out that this meeting represents an important step toward activating research partnerships and developing scientific cooperation programs with the Scientific Research Authority. He reaffirmed the College’s commitment to supporting researchers and providing an academic environment that fosters creativity and innovation.

For his part, Professor Dr. Shafiq Al-Mulla praised the efforts of Thi-Qar Technical College in the field of scientific research, commending the academic initiatives and research projects that contribute to serving the community and meeting the requirements of the current stage.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties agreed to establish practical mechanisms for joint cooperation and to work on developing future research programs that support the Ministry of Higher Education’s vision for advancing scientific research and enhancing the standing of Iraqi universities in global rankings.
