The Dean of Thi-Qar Technical College, Prof. Dr. Hussein Tuqan Abdullah, participated in the inauguration of the Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity Center in the governorate, which was opened by the Governor of Thi-Qar, Mr. Murtadha Al-Ibrahimi, and the Deputy Governor for Planning Affairs, Eng. Rizaq Al-Ali, in the presence of several officials and representatives of security and scientific departments.
The Governor affirmed during the opening ceremony that the center represents a qualitative leap in the path of modernizing administrative and service work, as it includes specialized departments in e-governance, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. It aims to transition from a paper-based system to a comprehensive electronic system in managing government institutions, contributing to faster processing of transactions and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
He added that the security stability witnessed by the governorate has helped create a suitable environment for launching vital projects and attracting major international investment companies from Germany, Turkey, Italy, and China, particularly in the fields of electricity, housing, and industry. He noted that the coming months will see the opening of Nasiriyah International Airport, which will constitute a strategic pillar for supporting development and enhancing the governorate’s status.
For his part, the Dean of Thi-Qar Technical College emphasized that the college’s participation in this event comes as part of its support for digital transformation projects and the development of technological infrastructure in the governorate. He explained that the college possesses specialized academic staff in information technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, and seeks to strengthen cooperation with government institutions to provide training and technical support for future digital transformation projects.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of academics and experts in technology and digital transformation, who stressed the importance of this step in building a unified database and enhancing cybersecurity within government institutions.
