Under the Patronage of the Deanship of the Technical College of Thi Qar, a Scientific Seminar on Artificial Intelligence Applications in Engineering Is Held

As part of its continuous efforts to keep pace with modern technological developments, the Technical College of Thi Qar held a specialized scientific seminar entitled:

“Artificial Intelligence in Electromechanical Systems Engineering.”

The seminar witnessed distinguished attendance by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hussein Toukan Abdullah, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Talib Hashem, in addition to a number of department heads, faculty members, and interested students.

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ali Faiq, who holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and specializes in artificial intelligence applications. The seminar addressed several strategic themes, including:

  • Early fault detection, highlighting how artificial intelligence contributes to predicting failures before they occur in electromechanical systems.

  • Financial analysis and the role of intelligent algorithms in analyzing and reducing the economic costs of engineering projects.

  • Smart monitoring mechanisms that ensure operational continuity with high efficiency.

The seminar also presented a number of real-world case studies implemented in international factories and facilities that have adopted artificial intelligence to enhance production levels.

At the conclusion of the seminar, extensive discussions took place between the audience and the lecturer on how to adapt these technologies to the local engineering environment. The Dean of the College praised the efforts exerted in selecting topics that address the needs of the modern labor market, reaffirming the college’s support for scientific activities that enhance the knowledge base of its students and staff.
