Department Overview
The Department is one of the modern engineering departments that meets the requirements of the rapidly evolving digital revolution. Its mission is to prepare specialized engineering cadres equipped with the technical and cognitive skills necessary to protect digital and information infrastructures from cyber threats.
The department focuses on providing students with scientific and practical foundations in the fields of information security, network protection, cryptography, vulnerability analysis, secure computing systems, and penetration testing, in addition to familiarizing them with the latest technologies and tools used in the fields of cyber defense.
It also strives to qualify graduates capable of risk analysis, developing protection strategies, and working within specialized teams in governmental and private institutions, thereby contributing to strengthening national digital security and ensuring safe digital transformation in Iraq.
